Great Witnessing Teachers but Not for Everyone

Reviewed by M. Hodge, 2010-01-26

Having used several of the "Way of the Master" materials, I have a great respect for this team led by Ray Comfort. Their videos are a great resource for evangelism and their method has been proven effective in witnessing. This book is essentially the same materials and is an easy read and a great challenge for our fervor for evangelism.
Just one critique that I would have for this material is that it seems that Comfort wants everyone to fit into his own extremely extroverted style of evangelism (which is mentioned again and again as standing on a box and preaching in a park). As Mike Bechtl points out in his book, "Evangelism for the Rest of Us", extreme extroverts and the methods of extreme extroverts is not the only method for evangelism. So while I greatly respect these authors and their proven work in evangelism, I would just offer the caution that an introvert might read this and feel rather guilty because they just weren't wired like Ray Comfort. The point is evangelism, not the style of one person vs. another.
I was challenged by this book to be more aware of opportunities to share Christ around me, so for that I recommend the book.

Excellent Resource for Evangelism Training

I used this to lead an evangelism class at our church. Everyone enjoyed it and found it helpful. The thing that I like about it is that it is a Biblically based approach. We had the classes on 4 Monday nights. I highly suggest getting the student book.
